Nathan Pacheco - ForeverNathan Pacheco is an opera trained tenor who “sings with the warmth of the great pop artists.” He is a native of Washington, D.C., of Brazilian descent. With the passion of a poet, Nathan who is an accomplished television and recording artist expresses his love of languages by writing lyrics in Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish. He has commented, “I sing from my heart because that’s the way they do it in Brazil. As a singer and writer, I couldn’t wish for a better opportunity because Yanni’s music has so much emotion and my singing style requires that kind of feeling.”

In November 2012, he embarked on his first headlining tour with concerts in Chicago, Hartford, Fort Lauderdale, San Diego, Salt Lake City, and Washington, D.C. Since then he has performed before worldwide live audiences. During the 2016 Christmas season, he toured with world renown recording artist, David Archuleta. In December 2015, Nathan recorded a video with David called “The Prayer” as part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Christmas initiative #ASaviorIsBorn. As of early February 2017, the video of the song sang in both English and Italian, has garnered more than 5 million views.

Nathan not only has a love for great music but he has a passion for reaching out and uplifting people through the music he performs. Over a year ago, after receiving an email from his brother with the subject line “Currently my favorite Christian rock song,” he became exposed to a song by Kari Jobe that had a deep impact on him. The song is called “Forever” and after hearing it for the first time, he knew that he would perform it someday.

Nathan Pacheco - ForeverIn an interview with LDS Living, he said, “Things got busy with different music projects I was working on at the time and I forgot about the song.” However, the song continued to be a part of his life in many ways. When his son who was born five weeks premature lay in the hospital, the song took on an even deeper meaning for him. He and his wife took turns watching over their newborn. Nathan further commented, “I’ve never been a fan of pain and blood, and so as I saw them poking him all over and drawing blood and sticking IVs all over the place I was having a pretty rough time. Everything was so uncertain and it was something completely foreign to the both of us.”

Nathan would hold his son for hours all the while listening to music on his headphones. He told LDS Living, “During a day when my heart was particularly heavy, I was listening to the song ‘Forever.’ And when the song was at its climax, I lost it. I sat there completely bawling as I held him. The meaning of the song reached me to the core—that the Lord really had overcome all things.” As he was crying, he amazingly felt a sense of peace – a peace beyond all understanding – a peace that only the Lord himself can give us when there seems to be no peace.

It was after that spiritual experience that Nathan knew that he had to perform his version of the song “Forever” and share its powerful message with everyone, realizing that the song had much more meaning than his own story.
