Reese OliveiraReese Oliveira, a 12-year-old member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is a Utah-based singer, dancer, and actress. She is in the seventh grade and is the oldest of five kids in her family.

She sings as a soprano for the One Voice Children’s Choir, a non-profit organization with a vision statement that reads, “Through music, we inspire, enrich, uplift, and serve our global community, while building youth as One Voice.”

The choir, under the direction of Masa Fukuda, originated from a group of children who sang at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Fukuda made such an impact on the children that they asked to continue singing together. The choir did continue through the supportive efforts of their parents, and in the summer of 2005, the group was officially named One Voice Children’s Choir.

The choir, which is comprised of 140 children ages 4 to 18 who reside in northern Utah along the Wasatch Front, has received numerous awards, including the John Lennon International Music Award and the Best of State Award for Best Children’s Performing Group as well as the BOSS statue for the most outstanding in the Arts and Entertainment division. In early 2014, One Voice Children’s Choir was featured with Alex Boyé in a music video cover of “Let It Go” from the Disney movie Frozen. The video went viral with over 87 million YouTube views and was named YouTube’s Top Cover of 2014.

Reese also loves to sing and perform in live theater, and her most recent role was portraying Young Cosette in Les Miserables at Hale Center Theater Orem, 19 February – 25 April 2015. Other productions which she has been a part of include: 2014 Scera Shell Les Miserables, 2014 Celebrations of Christ at Capitol Theater, Kurt Bestor Christmas, the inauguration of State Attorney Sean Reyes, and much more.

She has trained in both vocal technique and dance at Center Stage (Orem, Utah) and On Broadway Academy (American Fork, Utah), and is currently continuing her training in speech-level technique, pop, and classical vocal styles. In 2012, she was the grand prize winner for her age category in the “Lehi Idol.” She has also privately recorded for several artists as both a soloist and small group member.

Reese is an ordinary 10-year-old girl who attends school and completes homework assignments. In her spare time, she enjoys learning how to decorate cakes, reading books, playing the guitar, and creating music videos for her YouTube channel. Her most recent music video “Get Back Up Again” by Anna Kendrick from the movie Trolls, was published on her YouTube channel on 17 March 2017. Fans can support her and make donations towards her recording of future music videos through her Patreon page.
