Jennifer Thomas - The Fire WithinThere are two things that this author always finds to be consistent about the music videos that piano virtuoso, Jennifer Thomas, releases and that is her videos always have an amazing story to tell, and that story is told through her music in a masterful way. This is not only true of her music videos, but each track on her albums as well. Her latest music video, “The Fire Within,” featuring Kimberley Starkey (a.k.a. The Rogue Pianist), released on her YouTube channel on 5 October 2018, remains within the scope of that consistency.

The dictionary defines the word “tenacity” as the quality or fact of being very determined; the word “determination” is defined as firmness of purpose or resoluteness; the word “fortitude” is defined as courage in pain or adversity; and the word “endurance” is defined as the fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way. These four characteristics are encompassed in the vicissitudes of life and are aptly defined as Jennifer Thomas magnificently performs, “The Fire Within.”

Jennifer Thomas - The Fire Within - Abbey Roads Studios“The Fire Within” is the title track of Jennifer’s new album which is set to release on Friday, 12 October 2018 and can be pre-ordered through her PledgeMusic.com page. The album is her sixth and has been underway since January 2018. It contains her signature style of cinematic orchestral piano-based music and is comprised of 10 new songs (8 new original songs and 2 covers), with three featured guest artist – Tina Guo, Eurielle, and The Rogue Pianist. Portions of the album was recorded at Abbey Roads Studios in London, England, and musicians from the Ensign Symphony Orchestra (Seattle) are also featured.

In the video, Jennifer does something that may appear to be a little out of the ordinary – she burns a piano. Why would she do that, and what is the significance behind doing so? Jennifer answered that question in a post in the Jennifer Thomas Fan Group on 10 October 2018:

WHY FIRE? / I’ve had people ask me why I burned a piano in my new music video for “The Fire Within” 🔥. The reason why I burned it was symbolic. I wanted to show that even when there is fire burning around us and chaos and negativity, there is a fire within each of us that can burn brighter. The video shows a fire starting in the piano as it’s being played (also symbolizing the impact of music), it gets brighter and bigger until at the end I am engulfed in it and yet I am strong, still playing. The point is that I survived. You can do hard things, because of the fire within each of you. . .. I survived because the fire within me burned brighter than the fire around me.

Jennifer Thomas - The Fire WithinJennifer Thomas’ words echo those of American author, Augustine “Og” Mandino II, who said, “Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.” In that same vein, he is also quoted as saying, “I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars.”

Jennifer Thomas’ new masterpiece, The Fire Within, is sure to leave audiences awestruck and wanting to listen to each track many times over. And, as a person listens, it is hoped that he or she will find the fire that burns deep within themselves.

Thank you, Jennifer Thomas for sharing your God-given talents with the world! Well done!
