GENTRI– the Gentlemen’s Trio – comprised of distinguished tenors Brad Robins, Casey Elliott, and Bradley Quinn Lever, was established in June 2014. Since their beginning, they have been entertaining audiences across the nation with their unique style of music that according to their official website, can be described “only as ‘Cinematic Pop,’ a fusion of lush, epic orchestrations coupled with rich, dynamic three-part harmonies.”
The group released GENTRI – the Gentlemen’s Trio, their debut album, on 31 March 2015, which proved to be a resounding success, ranking number 5 on Billboard’s Classical Chart and number 3 on the Classical Crossover Chart. On the heels of that success, they released a special three-song Christmas EP titled Merry Christmas which also garnered them great success.
Continuing in the tradition of using rich orchestral backgrounds and strong harmonies to create songs that are inspiring and soaring, the trio have released their first full-length album, Rise, which consists of eight original numbers and two covers, on 12 February 2016. The album is already receiving much acclaim. In their rousing review of the album, blogcritics.org exclaimed, “The album is so powerful that it debuted at #3 on both the Classical and Classical Crossover charts, behind John Williams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Andrea Bocelli. But enthusiasts of many genres will enjoy this album, including and beyond the classical audience.”
On 27 January 2016, GENTRI published a stirring music video on their YouTube channel as a fitting tribute to the powerful song Soldier from the new album. The song is dedicated to everyone who faces any type of battle in life – a soldier fighting on the battlefield, a person dealing with the daily grind of working in their trade, a person battling an illness, parents raising their children in a chaotic world, or people who fight the small important battles of everyday life. Its strong message is one of encouragement to find the brave warrior that exists within each of us. In the description of the video, GENTRI commented:
This song speaks about finding the “soldier” in all of us, and illustrates that we all must dig deep and find the fight that drives us. Regardless of who you are or what you do there are things in life worth fighting for – a mother fighting to raise her kids in the best way possible, a fireman putting his own life on the line to save others, an artist pursing his passion, or a soldier serving his country.
It has been our experience that the most worthwhile things in life often require the most effort. You really have to fight for them. You have to have the “will of a Soldier.”
The 31 January 2016, online edition of heraldextra.com reports, “The ‘everyday soliders’ the group mentioned are a part of GENTRI’s #FindYourFight campaign, and include Dewy – an Iraq veteran, Cory – a musician fighting for his right to perform, Kim – a single mom of an eight-month-old, Stephanie – a nurse and community volunteer and John – a battalion fire chief, just for starters. Each person featured has a unique story, a unique fight and the determination to battle through.”
