McKay Spencer Hatch
McKay Spencer Hatch, born on 8 March 1993, is a professional musician who plays at numerous events and entertains audiences nationwide. He is originally from South Pasadena, California and is a graduate of the class of 2012 of South Pasadena High School. He also studied Communications at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho.
McKay has been singing and entertaining audiences worldwide since the age of 14. He has appeared on ABC, CBS, NBC, The Tonight Show, Dr. Phil, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and many other venues.
McKay is an avid lover of music. He plays various instruments including guitar, violin, piano, and ukulele. Mckay, also sings, and is becoming more involved with recording and producing his music. He has a YouTube channel which he began in May 2015 which includes cover songs, collaborations with guest artists such as Madilyn Paige, original songs, and other things that he feels inspired to share such as his live acoustic performances. In 2009, McKay released a two-song EP titled “Inspire.” About the album he comments, “This album came to me while I was in the middle of a struggle I was having where I was getting put down by many people. I used music to break through those tough times and come out on top. I just want to spread the joy I had from accomplishing something during a time of trial with everyone.” The two songs listed on the EP are “You Can Do Anything” and “Let’s Work It Out.” The tracks can be downloaded from iTunes.
In 2011, he released a song called “Quench My Heart.” At that time, he described his style of music thus, “I like to listen to Bruno Mars, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, and The Beatles. These artists have influenced the way I write music. So, my style of music is a mix of these artists.”
Many people may remember that at the age of 14, McKay was inspired to start a No Cussing Club that gained national attention. The club began with 50 members and has grown to over 5,000 members and still growing with support from people worldwide.
McKay is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In his bio on his Facebook page, he states, “I enjoy the opportunity of being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I believe in, and am a follower of the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ. I love my family and enjoy hanging out with them! They mean a lot to me and have been and will continue to be a huge part of my life. I feel blessed to be a part of my family.”
