Nathan Hardey
Nathan Hardey is a 16-year-old member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from West Jordan, Utah who according to his father once had a dream of playing high school basketball. However, before that happened, he found something else that he has become passionate about. Nathan is now an up and coming pianist who is gaining national attention. He was recently awarded a first place award at the state level (Utah) and a fifth place award at the national level for his music prowess. His genre includes New Age, Gospel, Christian, and Inspirational.
Nathan started playing the piano at the age of nine and has been writing music since he was fourteen. His goal is to share the music he loves with others. On 28 May 2015, he released his first official song “More Than Me,” an original composition, which can be purchased on iTunes, Amazon, or Google Play.
He has had some great mentors to help him get to where he is today to include Paul Cardall, an American pianist known for his original compositions and arrangements of various hymns. The day prior to his track release, he wrote a thank you message on his Facebook page:
Thanks to my uncle, Mike Hardey, and pianist, Paul Cardall, for being a great influence on me and being great mentors! I would never have thought to do this and would never have thought it possible to continue on with my dream without you two. I appreciate all the support and encouragement you have given me. Even though it might not seem like much to you, it has meant the world to me. Due in part to your encouragement, I’m releasing my first single tomorrow. Thanks for your support!
When he is not at the piano, Nathan still loves to play basketball and is currently on the track team doing long jump at Copper Hills High School. He has also shown an interest in playing the guitar. He stated on his Facebook page, “I look forward to making more music that will motivate, inspire, and bring peace to your soul!”
