Kimberly Maycock
Kimberly (Roderick) Maycock is a singer-songwriter from Utah. She is a Registered Nurse by trade, having received her Associate of Science (AS) Degree in Registered Nursing from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, in 2008. She is a geriatric nurse, serving the elderly. She most recently was involved in a corporate-level nursing administration role before making the decision to be a full-time Mom and homemaker.
Music has always been a big part of her life. She began her college career as a music major, studying Vocal Performance at Utah State University in Logan, Utah, from 2004 to 2006. When she started her family, she slowed down as far as entertaining and traveling, but she says, “The fire still burns to serve and create.” She further states that “music is healing and has a power all its own.” She even sings for her patients, thus being dubbed the “Singing Nurse,” and is always amazed at how music touches souls.
Her desire to serve has taken her around the world on humanitarian and proselyting missions. As she has served, she has helped others to be healed both physically and spiritually. She attributes music for playing a large role in the healing process. She took the life lessons that she learned from her service and created an album called Streams of Mercy, which is an inspirational compilation of original and cover songs. The album was released in January 2016, and includes “Come Thou Fount,” “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art,” and others.
Her album is distributed by RLegacy Entertainment and their description of the album reads, “Kimberly Maycock uses a palette inspired by the sounds of Middle America – guitar, piano, mandolin, and the occasional string section – to tell stories of heartache and hope…With its moving words, textured arrangements, and heartfelt songwriting, Streams of Mercy is a new LDS classic.” Another reviewer from the Hollywood Times states, “Maycock’s impressive range and cameo self-harmonies reflect a pure pitch that connects lofty with earthy messages. The timing of string and soft percussion provides a pleasant, natural base to the superb vocals. Maycock’s original music and lyrics weave traditional messages of encouragement with her masterful messages of the heart. This fabric creates a space in time for her audience to mend their personal relationship with the Divine.”
Kimberly has a passion for the performing arts. She has performed in venues throughout America and Europe. Professional performance credits include Disney, Sun Valley Resort, Hale Center Theater, and Pickleville Playhouse. Her favorite theatrical credits include Maria, The Sound of Music; Maria, West Side Story; Fantine, Les Miserables; Evita, Evita; and Kate, Kiss Me, Kate. She has served and performed abroad with Kiwanis International (Mexico 2004), Ascend Alliance (Peru 2009), Weber State University (China 2009), Utah Hospital Task Force (Haiti 2010), and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Hungary 2010-2011).
Kimberly (Roderick) Maycock is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She currently resides in Gilbert, Arizona, with her husband Eric and their two sons, Gavin and Cooper.
