Kenya Clark
Twelve-year-old Kenya Elizabeth Clark was born a singer and performer. There is not a day that goes by that she is not singing. She has been a member of the One Voice Children’s Choir since February 2015. Before joining the Choir, she was with the American Heritage School Youth Chorus for two years.
Kenya has been playing the piano for four years and has sung and played piano at family and church performances, school talent shows, and music recitals. She has performed the National Anthem at such venues in Salt Lake City, Utah, as the 2014 Miss Utah Pageant at the Capitol Theatre, the 10 December 2016 Utah Jazz game at the Vivint Smart Home Arena, and the University of Utah men and women’s basketball games at the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
Kenya has also performed as a soloist with the One Voice Children’s Choir on many stages and venues including:
- The One Voice Children’s Choir 2015 Summer Concert at the Sandy Amphitheater in Sandy, Utah, where she was the solo on the song “Burn”
- BYU Vocal Point’s Christmas concert
- The Association of General Contractors Conference
- The Celebration of Christ at the Rose Wagner Theater
- The Parliament of the World’s Religions
- The Peter Breinholt Christmas Concert at the Rose Wagner Theater
She has been featured as a soloist or as a choir member for the following music videos: “Born on Christmas Day,” “We Are One” (written by David Osmond), “One Single Bell” (with BYU Vocal Point), “One By One” (words written by David A. Bednar, music composed by Paul Cardall), “A Child’s Prayer” (written by Janice Kapp Perry), “Lullaby” (for Peter Breinholt for Operation Underground Railroad), “Diamonds,” “Christmas Wish,” and “True Colors.”
Other projects were Kenya’s voice has been featured are “Alma the Younger” for Janice Kapp Perry, “Saturday’s Warrior” for Kenny Holland, and several songs for Kamie Bolen including “The Lord Gave Me a Temple,” “Press Forward,” “I Love to See the Temple,” and “Praise to the Man.” She also recorded a project for Blake Gillette, and a did a recording project for Sam and Gary Francis for classroom classics.com. Kenya has also performed at other venues in Salt Lake City, Utah, including the Assembly Hall on Temple Square, the Joseph Smith Memorial building, and the Tabernacle on Temple Square, soloing with the One Voice Children’s Choir.
Kenya launched her YouTube channel in 2016 with the purpose of uplifting, inspiring, and entertaining those who have begun to follow her. Among these amazing videos you will find some choir performances, talent show performances, homemade videos, and professionally produced music covers of “Gethsemane,” “Moana,” and her most recent cover of Ariana Grande and John Legend’s “Beauty and the Beast” with Matthew Edward Caldwell which was released on 24 February 2017. Kenya Clark is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Besides being talented, Kenya is determined and a hard worker. She has paid for all her music videos by doing babysitting jobs and by selling Pizza fundraising cards on the weekends. She is a great entrepreneur! She also likes to write fiction stories and loves drama movies and plays. She plans to get into the theater at some point in her musical career.
On 15 November 2017, Kenya released her very first Disney original single titled “Edge of Loneliness.” The song was written by Shaun Barrowes and features Elsa, Anna, Aladdin’s Jasmine, Rapunzel from Tangled, Peter Pan, and Wendy.
Kenya gives thanks to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for the gift of her voice. She is committed to raising her voice to honor and preach the truth and all good things all over this world.
