Vickey Pahnke Taylor
Vickey Pahnke Taylor is a wife, mom, grandmother, teacher, author, songwriter/producer, vocalist, and professional speaker. Her undergraduate study at Brigham Young University (BYU) was musical theater. She holds a Master of Interpersonal Communications, and for more than two decades, she has taught Church Educational Systems (CES) programs to include being a speaker at BYU Educational Week and Best of Especially for Youth.
Vickey primarily uses music as a teaching tool, but has found that her favorite way to use music is singing to her children. She is a Billboard award-winning songwriter who has hundreds of songs to her credit. She has three solo albums in the LDS market, and also co-wrote “Women at the Well” with Kenneth Cope and “My Beloved Christ” with Randy Kartchner. She is also the co-writer of Utah’s Make-A-Wish-Foundation theme song, the theme songs for the Special Olympics program (state by state selection), and the theme song for Especially for Youth (EFY). Her latest CD is “He Restoreth My Soul: Hymns of Hope & Peace.”
She is also a prolific writer and is the author of several books, as well as a writer for several online magazines and columns. Her personal website Goodness Matters is her way of continuing to promote goodness in the world, all the while pointing people toward the Savior and eternal principles of truth.
Vickey was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a teenager in Virginia and currently serves in her ward as a Gospel Doctrine teacher. She and her husband Dan have eight children and four grandchildren.
