Joni is actively engaged in a new project called “The Best Medicine.” Joni wrote the musical, and it is composed by legendary artist Jerry Williams. According to the description on the YouTube channel for the project:
The Best Medicine is a groundbreaking musical that empowers us by getting us to laugh. And then laugh again. It’s packed with heart and healing, giving strength and hope to everyone who sees it. The love story is compelling and real, and the message of women not being defined by their appearances will make audience members stand up and cheer.
Truth packs houses, so we decided to create a musical that’s honest and funny, but also a tender love story about one couple’s journey. It even includes a tribute song to caregivers, and of course some beautiful love ballads as well. It honestly reminds us what matters most, to celebrate the ride we’ve had, and that the important thing isn’t facing death—it’s facing life.
