Shaun Canon
Shaun Cannon, whose birth name is Shaun Barrowes, is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah, and is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is also known as Canon, The Canonite, Hammer Hands, Storm Trooper, Shaun Canonite, and Live for Music.
Canon is a singer, songwriter, piano man, arranger, actor (having starred in four TV pilots), and video producer (films, television shows, and video games). He started taking piano lessons at the age of six, and his mother who was an opera singer taught him to sing. By the time he was fifteen he was writing songs, and in 2007, at the age of sixteen, he had recorded his first album titled “Big Bang Theory” and went on tour. A few years later he produced a second album.
He has numerous credits to his name to include: (1) writing the theme song for Shadow Complex, the top-selling and award-winning video game of 2009, (2) winning a Platinum AVA award as co-producer of the TV show “Vivir Bailando,” (3) being a contestant in season seven of “American Idol” (2008) and making it into the top thirty finalists, (4) performing for former U.S. President George W. Bush, and (5) being nominated for an Emmy for his music video Army of Kings (2010). He has created numerous music videos, including “Don’t Carry It All” with Lindsey Stirling.
Performing with Shaun Canon and the Pops Orchestra, he has toured North America, Europe and Asia singing for both large and small audiences. He has worked with such artists as Brian McKnight, Janelle Monae, Lindsey Sterling, Greyson Chance, David Archuleta, and many others. He recently won the UK Music Contest, Slice the Pie, decided by fan popular vote, and he also works to keep music education in high schools and colleges with Live for Music. Thus far, he has raised over $300,000 for music programs in schools.
